Forth
of July: Jersey Shore Style
Nothing goes better with the
Forth of July than a barbeque and a beach and the
New Jersey Shore is no exception. With activities
galore this weekend is more of a festival in most
shore towns, but with so much to do where do you start?
We have compiled a list of some of the Jersey Shore’s
“must do” activities for the Forth!
1. Fireworks
What would the Fourth of July be like without fireworks?
Most shore towns have displays on either the 4th itself
or the day before. Generally fireworks are shot at
nightfall on the beach and if you have a clear night
sometime you are able to see all of the shows at once
right down the coast.
2. Kite Flying Contest
Ocean City is home to one of the biggest kite flying
contests in the country. If you are not flying a kite
it is a spectacular site to see. People from all around
the region come to fly kites as simple as the classic
“diamond” to very complex multi-winged
plains. A trip to this event will usually result in
an entire roll of pictures!
3. Parades
The parades on the Fourth of July at the shore are
hard to beat. Nearly every shore town has one or is
close to another town that does. This is a great morning
activity for the whole family, and a great place to
go before the kite flying contest.
