NJ Supreme Court changes jury selection

These changes include using state labor records to create jury lists, training for judges, staff and potential jurors on implicit bias and allowing attorneys to question potential jurors.

Courts will now collect more information on jurors’ race, ethnicity and gender to better measure the composition of juries. The Supreme Court is also asking lawmakers to increase juror compensation and allow some people with criminal histories to serve as jurors.
