Karen Parry Libraries occupy a unique place in our memories and communities, like a trusted friendship that’s lasted through the years. Contrary to the stereotype often associated with libraries being dimly lit, hushed and outdated, libraries are fast-paced hubs responding to community health needs and challenges.

A library is not just a place where stories are read and told. Libraries tell the story of who we are as a society.

This was evident during the darkest days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Librarians kept services accessible and programs abuzz by entertaining and educating families across the state with virtual activities and learning opportunities for all ages.
