Canadian wildfire smoke creates haze over N.J. skies

If you think the sky looks a bit hazy today, you aren’t seeing things.

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly identified the haziness on Sunday as “being due to smoke from Canadian wildfires spreading across the eastern US.”

In New Jersey, National Weather reported “the smoke is aloft only and will not impact air quality.”

The smoky skies will likely linger at times into early next week, according to National Weather.

On Saturday, U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke L. Rollins said in a statement that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service was deploying resources to assist the wildfire response currently impacting Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, and Alberta, Canada.
