A 40-year-old man was shot and killed by police after he fired at officers in North Philadelphia, investigators said.
The ordeal began around 6 p.m. on Friday, July 4th, along the 2900 block of Lawrence Street as police responded to the report of a domestic incident involving an armed man.
As they approached the home, a 40-year-old man inside the property opened fire at the officers, according to First Deputy Commissioner John Stanford with the Philadelphia Police Department.
