N.J. high school girls golfer competes at U.S. Women’s Open

Pingry’s Rayee Feng tied for 51st place at the U.S. Women’s Open, which concluded Sunday at Erin Hills Golf Course in Hartford, WI.

She shot a 9-over-par and was fifth among amateurs.

Feng started the tournament strong and was tied for 15th at 2-under following the second round, but shot 1-over after the third and finished the tournament 9-over. She was at even par after the first round.

Feng was one of two qualifiers back on May 9. She also won the individual state championship this high school season, along with the Somerset County and Skyland Conference titles.

Feng was the first amateur to win the New Jersey Women’s Open last year, when she had a three-stroke margin of victory at Knickerbocker Country Club in Tenafly.
