A 100-metre cordon was put in place for public safety before a 57-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of offences under The Explosive Substances Act.

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Officers have now left the scene at New Dock Road, Llanelli.

“We want to again thank the local community for their patience and understanding while the incident was brought to a safe conclusion yesterday evening.

“A 57-year-old man, from Llanelli, remains in police custody as the investigation continues.”
