Philadelphia students and teachers brace for SEPTA budget cuts – NBC10 Philadelphia

With SEPTA’s budget cuts set to go into effect on Aug. 24, just before school begins for the Philadelphia School District as well as the colleges in the city, many students are saying they may find alternatives to the transit system instead of taking longer routes.
One of the routes expected to be shortened is Route 43, which currently drops students off right by the Community College of Philadelphia.
Keyimani Williams, an incoming freshman at the college, was planning to take the bus from Parkside to get to class, but the route will now only operate in the Parkside Loop if the cuts go into effect.
“’ll have to either walk the rest of the way, or get a Uber and spend even more money,” Williams said.
