Elizabeth (Kresse) Spinosa, 78, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025 at Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, NJ, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on October 9, 1946, in Kerton, Austria, she was the youngest of three siblings, including Walter and Ingrid.
Elizabeth immigrated to America as a baby and grew up in Ridgewood, Queens. Her adventurous spirit took her across the globe during her career with Chase Manhattan Bank, including stays in Japan and Saudi Arabia. A longtime resident of Sea Girt, she moved to Spring Lake Heights in her later years.
A dedicated mother, Elizabeth cherished raising her four sons and doting on her grandchildren. Known for her selflessness, she always prioritized the needs of others before her own. She delighted in cooking and baking, ensuring everyone who visited left with a gift and plenty of leftovers.
Elizabeth was an avid reader and volunteered at the Sea Girt Library. She was active in her church community, teaching CYO/CCD classes, and took joy in decorating for every holiday. Among her favorite pastimes were trips to Atlantic City.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 46 years, Kenneth, and her brother, Walter. Elizabeth is survived by her sons: Christopher and his wife Kelly, along with their daughters Gracie and Emma; Anthony and his wife Lori; Nicholas and his wife Catherine, along with their sons Liam and Sunny; Patrick and his wife Francine, along with their daughters Lyla and Eva; her sister Ingrid, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be held Monday, June 2, 2025, 10am at St. Margaret’s Church, 300 Ludlow Avenue, Spring Lake, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elizabeth’s name to The Humane Society.
