Jane Barrett Murray McCoy, 81, of Hertford, NC, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025, in Brookdale of Elizabeth City.
Mrs. McCoy was born in Mercer County, NJ on February 28, 1944, and was the daughter of the late Helen Barrett and John Cornell Murray, Jr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Capt. John Titus, US Navy Retired.
Jane graduated from Trenton State College and later received her master’s degree from Georgian Court University in Lakewood, NJ. A retired educator having taught for nearly 30 years, she later owned and operated The Goddard School of Early Childhood Education.
