Be prepared for dense fog in 16 N.J. counties Wednesday morning

The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 6:25 a.m. on Wednesday for dense fog until 9 a.m. for Sussex, Warren, Morris, Hunterdon, Somerset, Middlesex, Monmouth, Mercer, Salem, Gloucester, Camden, Burlington, Ocean, Cumberland, Atlantic and Cape May counties.

“Patches of dense fog have developed across much of the region. While not expected to be very widespread, localized visibility may drop below one quarter of a mile. Early morning motorists should use caution through the morning rush. Low beam headlights help keep your vehicle visible to others and reduced speed allows more time for you and others to react. Visibility should improve later this morning,” says the weather service.
