Downed wires/car fire contained by Bay Head fire company – Star News Group

BAY HEAD — The Bay Head Fire Company, with the help of Mantoloking Fire Department, responded to a car fire on Lake Avenue and Karge Street Tuesday night.

At approximately 8:02 p.m., the Bay Head and Mantoloking fire departments were dispatched to 56 Karge St. in Bay Head for a report of wires down on a vehicle. Upon arrival, crews found the vehicle fully in flames.

It is unclear how the wires fell, but the power outages in the area prior may have led to the wires falling into the vehicle, according to Bay Head Fire Chief Andy Welsh.
