Flash floods leading to road closures in Monmouth and Ocean counties – Star News Group

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning and a severe thunderstorm watch on Tuesday, July 1.
The flash flood warning is in effect until 9 p.m. for southeastern Monmouth and northeastern Ocean counties. The severe thunderstorm watch also runs until 9 p.m. for Monmouth, Ocean, Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties.
Belmar Police Department shared to Facebook, “Sever thunderstorms have led to flooding throughout town. Numerous roads including Highway 35 are currently flooded and closed. If possible, avoid traveling until the storms have passed.”
