Philadelphia man pleads guilty to three armed store robberies over three-day span

PHILADELPHIA, PA – A 48-year-old Philadelphia man admitted this week to carrying out three armed robberies at city businesses in as many days, federal prosecutors said Friday.

Tyree Hatch, who also used the aliases Jamal Morris and Omar Reed, pleaded guilty to three counts of Hobbs Act robbery, three counts of using, carrying, and brandishing a firearm during and in relation to a crime of violence, and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon. The charges stem from a series of robberies in Northeast Philadelphia in November 2024.

On November 23, Hatch entered a convenience store on the 6700 block of Castor Avenue, placed a firearm into the back of an employee, and forced the victim to the cash register. He took cash, the employee’s iPhone, and several boxes…
