On Wednesday at 4:39 p.m. the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 5:30 p.m. for Sussex and Warren counties.

Be ready for quarter-sized hail (1 inch) and wind gusts of up to 60 mph.

“At 4:39 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near Newton, moving east at 10 mph,” says the weather service. “Minor damage to vehicles is possible. Wind damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is possible.”
