NEW YORK — Mets starter Frankie Montas wishes there was a DeLorean he could hop into, á la “Back to the Future.” He’d dial up Giants slugger Rafael Devers’s at-bat in the third inning on Sunday and settle for a do-over.

Montas was abysmal in his start in the Mets’ 12-4 loss against San Francisco on Sunday. And Devers’s second at-bat against him encapsulated it all.

With the game tied 1-1 and two runners on, snuck a sweeper low and outside for a strike. The next pitch, a 94.4 mph fastball right down the middle, Devers didn’t miss.

The ball sailed far and deep, landing on the second deck in right field. The 403-footer broke the dam open for the Giants, giving them a 4-1 lead; a lead they’d never surrender to the Mets again.
