NEW JERSEY — Amid a state of emergency declared by Acting Governor Tahesha Way, area events have been canceled for Thursday, July 31.

The Manasquan Fire Company. No. 2’s Fireman’s Fair has been closed for the night. The fair will resume tomorrow night. 

Jenkinson’s in Point Pleasant Beach has cancelled their events for Thursday night including their weekly fireworks.

Acting Governor Way declared the State of Emergency effective at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, due to the potential for flash flooding, severe thunderstorms, intense rainfall, and damaging wind gusts, according to a release.
