Big bluefin take center stage – Star News Group

Last week it was small bluefin. This week, big bluefin from 65-85 inches have taken center stage in our area and have shown up along the west side of the Mud Hole.
These bluefin have been caught in 120 to 130 feet of water. Many can be seen on your fishfinder just below the thermocline that is around 40 to 50 feet down. There are also tuna marks directly on the bottom. Jigging with the eight-inch NLBN butter-colored straight tail on their four-ounce head has been working well, as is dead sticking the four-ounce, 10-inch big game HD RonZ in the sandeel or pink color.
