Boy, 5, dies after being found in N.J. family’s pool

A 5-year-old boy died Saturday night after being found submerged in his family’s pool in Paterson, authorities said Sunday.
The child was driven by private vehicle to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center at about 10 p.m., according to a statement by Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia Valdes.
Witnesses told police that the boy was discovered by family members. His name was not released.
The child was “completely submerged underwater in a pool at his residence located in the area of Marshall Street and Mary Street in Paterson,” according to the statement.
He was pronounced dead at 10:02 p.m., authorities said.
An investigation is ongoing.
