WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a series of vehicle thefts and break-ins that occurred across multiple private parking garages throughout the District, the Metropolitan Police Department announced Wednesday.

Corey Pinkins of Southeast D.C. is accused of entering apartment and hotel garages, breaking into vehicles, stealing property, and in several cases, fleeing in stolen cars. Detectives linked Pinkins to at least 14 separate incidents between March and June.

Six of the reported cases involved stolen vehicles, all of which have since been recovered. Multiple others included destruction of property and theft of belongings from inside vehicles.
