Charles E. ‘Chuck’ ‘Poppy’ Springsteen, 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 27, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife of 65 years, Sarah, and their family.
Chuck was born in 1940 in Keyport, NJ, to Edward and Edna Springsteen. At a young age, his family relocated to Bay Head, where he attended Bay Head Elementary School and graduated from Point Pleasant Beach High School in 1959. Soon after, Chuck proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. During that time, he married the love of his life, Sarah Dickson, in 1960. While stationed in Arlington, VA, Chuck and Sarah welcomed two of their three children, Todd and Robin, born at Bethesda Naval Hospital.
