Coastal flood advisory in place for 3 N.J. counties until early Thursday morning

On Wednesday at 3:37 a.m. the National Weather Service issued a coastal flood advisory valid from 11 p.m. until Thursday 4 a.m. for Gloucester, Camden and Burlington counties.

The weather service comments, “Up to one foot of inundation above ground level expected in low-lying areas near shorelines and tidal waterways.”

“At this level, flooding begins on the most vulnerable roads along tidal waterways. Some partial or full road closures are possible,” explains the weather service. “If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed. Do not drive around barricades or through water of unknown depth. Take the necessary actions to protect flood-prone property.”
