Fire again forces residents out of Philly apartment building – NBC10 Philadelphia

A fire forced residents to evacuate an apartment building in Philadelphia’s Queen Village neighborhood for the second time this summer, with residents again being taken to a shelter provided by the city.

The building, located at the 1000 block of 4th Street, was first evacuated on June 26, 2025, with more than 200 residents being taken to shelters due to a fire that started at an electrical box, officials said.

More than a month later, on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, residents were again forced to evacuate due to an electrical fire. Tuesday’s fire started in the electrical room on the second floor of the building shortly before 7 p.m. Power was turned off in the building as a safety precaution as more than 150 first responders helped the residents get out safely.
