Foo Fighters and Nine Inch Nails switch drummers in rock shake-up

Call it a rock ‘n’ roll switcheroo.

The former drummer for the Foo Fighters is going to Nine Inch Nails and the drummer for Nine Inch Nails is headed to the Foo Fighters.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Nine Inch Nails drummer Ilan Rubin is being named the new drummer for the Foo Fighters after the band decided in May to “go in a different direction” and part ways with its drummer of two years, Josh Freese.

“No reason was given,” Freese, 52, said on Instagram at the time. “Regardless, I enjoyed the past two years with them, both on and off stage, and I support whatever they feel is best for the band.
