Highway worker killed in Atlantic City Expressway accident

A subcontractor for the South Jersey Transportation Authority died in an incident on the Atlantic City Expressway Friday morning, according to officials.
The New Jersey State Police said troopers responded to the incident at 7 a.m. on Friday morning near milepost 36.5 in Winslow Township, Camden County. The state police said the operator of the attenuator truck was backing up to pick up cones on the closed shoulder when he accidentally ran over a worker who was behind the truck.
Dominick Tarsitano, a 31-year-old worker from Egg Harbor Township, died from his injuries, the state police said. He was performing duties on a closed shoulder of the expressway when the crash happened, according to the South Jersey Transportation Authority.
