Illinois man arrested in I-83 shooting, linked to additional incidents in Pennsylvania

ELKTON, Md. — Maryland State Police have arrested a 28-year-old Illinois man in connection with a shooting late Wednesday night on Interstate 83 in Baltimore County that injured no one but left a family’s car riddled with bullets.

The suspect, Christian Ramos of Aurora, Illinois, is facing three counts of attempted first-degree murder and other related charges. Authorities say he may also be connected to three additional shootings that occurred later the same night along I-83 in Pennsylvania.

Just before midnight on June 18, troopers from the Golden Ring Barrack responded to a 911 call reporting gunfire on southbound I-83 near Shawan Road. The caller said shots had been fired at his Toyota Prius, which was carrying three people, including a two-year-old child. No…
