BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A 65-year-old man was injured Thursday evening after a dispute on a subway train turned violent at the 59th Street station, police said.

The altercation occurred around 7:15 p.m. aboard a southbound “N” train, where the victim became involved in a verbal confrontation with an unidentified individual. The dispute escalated, and the suspect punched the victim in the face, causing a laceration.

The assailant fled the location on foot after the incident. Police said the suspect’s direction of travel is unknown, and no arrests have been made.

Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to NYU Langone Hospital–Brooklyn. He was listed in stable condition as of Thursday night.
