A man has been arrested and charged in a robbery at knife point at a convenience store in Union County.
Nigel Cummings, 29, Roselle, was arrested on May 30, about two weeks after the robbery, the Linden Police Department said in a statement on Tuesday. He is charged with first degree robbery and weapons offenses.
A man entered New Way Supermarket on St. Georges Avenue in Linden with a knife in his hand about 2:30 p.m. on May 15. He then walked behind the counter, grabbed the cashier and demanded cash, authorities said.
The worker was not injured in the incident, officials said.
Cummings was later identified as a suspect and apprehended in Upper Merion, Pennsylvania, officials said. He is still in custody at Montgomery County Jail pending extradition to New Jersey.
