N.J. Symphony beats heat with patriotic outdoor concert series at Liberty State Park | Review

These past two weeks have seen the New Jersey Symphony expand its reach around the state, performing a series of six free concerts outdoors — four of them in communities that don’t get to experience the orchestra during its regular subscription season.

Last year, the NJS made news when they announced they were moving their administrative offices (and rehearsal space) to Jersey City’s Powerhouse Arts District. Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop has made performing arts a big part of his economic platform. But in the past few years, the weather has made it difficult for Garden State music fans to hear the full orchestra there.
