BALTIMORE, MD — A Towson University student from Montgomery County won $50,000 on the Maryland Lottery’s Lucky 777 scratch-off game after initially believing he had only won $5,000.

The student, who used the alias “Lucky Tiger” when claiming the prize, thought he had scored a single $5,000 win from an “Autowin” symbol on his ticket. He later handed the ticket to his mother, who discovered three additional $5,000 Autowins and a 3X multiplier on a $10,000 prize box, bringing the total to $50,000.

The ticket, purchased at the 7-Eleven located at 18120 Georgia Avenue in Olney, was later scanned to confirm the full prize amount.
