Zohran Mamdani’s upset was surprising for a lot of reasons. Among them, at least to us: his sweep of Hudson Yards. The 33-year-old New York assemblymember and democratic socialist won the neighborhood — a tract of luxury high-rises west of Tenth Avenue, between 30th and 40th Streets — with 52.9 percent of the vote, a 24.4-point lead over Andrew Cuomo. (It’s a lead that may continue to grow as Mamdani likely collects Brad Lander’s 10.7 percent in the next few rounds of counting.)
